Carolyn Timmons, an eighteen-year-old high school senior has not slept a wink all night, having tossed and turned in anxious anticipation of her participation in a radically new, federally-funded study in social dynamics. As one of twenty-four male and female student participants at Buena Vista High, she is to be naked 24/7 for the next six weeks, and in compensation for their participation, each test subject who successfully completes the study will receive a four year education at the university of their choice, all expenses paid. Carolyn's trial is rife with enormously stressful challenges to be met and overcome. Everything from initially disrobing, to a formal presentation before the student body, then coping with the reactions of her friends, going to class, and even driving home are all extreme emotional hurtles she must learn to deal with. To protect the students against the media and other religious zealots, each study participant has been given a personal ID bracelet which includes a GPS locator and an emergency security alarm tied directly into the local police. As Carolyn learns to adapt to her situation and grows bolder she learns to deal with life at school, her family at home, and eventually she begins to explore outside. While naked she goes to a public pool, the mall, and eventually out on a date, and even to church. Carolyn's story culminates with her participation at the Homecoming game as a member of the drill team, and with attending the big costume party on Halloween night. Every reader will find themselves voyeuristically and vicariously drawn into the situation of being naked in public in such a way that their most exciting charge of emotion will be in envisioning: "What if this was me?"
