Question by Kristy: Is there any kind of certification relating to birds that I could get?

Obviously, there is the option of majoring in Ornithology and Avian Sciences, which I am planning to do, but I am wondering if there is anything else I can do, more short-term. I have heard of birder/birdwatcher certification as well as some sort of ornithology certification but I cannot find information on them any further. Any recommendations?

Yes there is there is the Canadian or American Federation of Aviary Studies. There is a medium sized book to study, I believe you can find it on line. This will entitle you to own and run a full aviary on your own. It is quite a bit of conservation information. You can see it on the H.A.R.I. (HAGEN) web sight.
